On the afternoon of August 17, in Hanoi, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense organized a meeting with leaders and delegates of a number of agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Police (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2026) and the 81st anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Diplomatic Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2026).
General Secretary, President To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission attended the meeting.
Also attending were Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung; former Politburo Member, former Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Politburo Members, Members of the Secretariat, Members of the Party Central Committee; Party and State leaders; leaders of departments, ministries, central agencies and some localities.

According to VNA, giving flowers and giving congratulatory speeches, General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense respectfully thanked the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for always accompanying and closely coordinating, creating favorable conditions for the Vietnam People's Army to excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.

General Phan Van Giang affirmed that in recent years, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have well performed their functions and tasks, especially implementing the Regulation on coordination in research, situation assessment, and advising the Party and State to issue many strategic policies and decisions.
Ministries have also promoted their core role in implementing the Strategy for National Protection in the new situation, the National Security Strategy, Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 14th Central Committee of the Party on building a disciplined, safe, civilized, harmonious, and developed society, and resolutions of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation, on deploying the Party's Foreign Policy at the 14th National Congress, contributing to creating a solid foundation for the country to enter a new era of national development.
