On October 20, Party Central Committee member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh chaired a press conference on the expected agenda of the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
At the press conference, press agencies raised issues related to personnel work in the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Responding to this content, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Head of Delegation Affairs of the National Assembly Standing Committee - said that at the preparatory session of the National Assembly tomorrow morning (October 21), the National Assembly will review the contents expected to be submitted to the session and consider approving the program of the National Assembly session.
In particular, the content on personnel work will be considered and approved by the National Assembly in the official agenda of the session.
Head of Delegation Affairs said that, according to the scheduled agenda of the session submitted to the National Assembly for approval, on the first day of the session, the National Assembly will conduct the personnel process for the position of President according to the provisions of the Constitution and the law.
Regarding the candidates, the Head of Delegation Affairs said that we follow the principle of Party nomination and people election.
At the recent 10th Conference of the 13th Central Executive Committee, the Central Executive Committee voted and agreed to introduce qualified personnel and will submit them to the National Assembly to elect the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term according to regulations.
"This is the concretization of the policies of the Party and the National Assembly" - Head of Delegation Affairs of the National Assembly Standing Committee emphasized.
Regarding all personnel under the authority of the National Assembly, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Head of Delegation Affairs of the National Assembly Standing Committee - said that they will follow the provisions of the law in the arranged program to carry out the personnel under their authority.
At the press conference, Party Central Committee member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh said that on the opening day of the 8th session (morning of October 21), General Secretary and President To Lam will give a speech.
