With absolute approval votes, Mr. Dong Van Thanh - Member of the 14th Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, Chairman of the 10th Can Tho City People's Council, term 2021-2026 - was elected to the position of Chairman of the 11th City People's Council, term 2026-2031.
Mr. and Mrs. Ly Rotha, Vo Thi My Trang, Ma Thi Tuoi, Tran Quoc Vu were elected to the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City, term XI, 2026-2031.
The session also approved the establishment of committees and personnel for heads of committees of the People's Council of Can Tho City, term XI, 2026-2031.
Mr. Dong Van Thanh was born in 1969, native of Can Tho City. Political theory qualifications: Bachelor of Science. Professional qualifications: University of Sociology.
Mr. Thanh has worked for a long time in the old Hau Giang province, now Can Tho City, and has held many positions.
On July 1, 2025, he became Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City (new) for the 2021-2026 term.
From January 2026, he was a member of the 14th Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City for the 2021-2026 term.
