On the afternoon of February 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to announce and present the Politburo's decision on personnel work.
According to the decision, the Politburo transferred, assigned and appointed Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.
On the same day, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also appointed Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, the new Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Duoc expressed his deep gratitude to the Politburo for trusting him with the new responsibility. Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc acknowledged that this is not only an honor but also a heavy responsibility.
"I am just a three-leaf boat driver in a small stream, now I and my comrades are operating a larger boat, traveling on a river, even crossing the ocean. There will definitely be more challenges and difficulties" - Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc shared.
The new Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that for Ho Chi Minh City to develop prosperity, civilization, love and achieve double-digit economic growth, the solidarity and consensus of the entire political system is a key factor.
"There is no change if the leader does not change himself first. There would be no success if I did it alone without the consistency in the entire political system" - Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc expressed.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, in the current context, high political determination, solidarity, daring to think, daring to do and daring to take responsibility are the core values that help Ho Chi Minh City conquer new heights.
He affirmed that no matter how difficult it is, history does not allow us to back down or stop, but must continue to move forward for the development of the city and the whole country.
Speaking at the assignment, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen said that Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc comes from a family with a revolutionary tradition, was well-trained and had held many important positions in Long An province.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, the Politburo carefully considered the qualities and abilities of Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc before moving to Ho Chi Minh City.
The assignment of Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also aims to prepare personnel to introduce and elect the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in the coming time.
"Receiving the assignment at this time is a great honor but also a heavy and challenging responsibility for Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc. This is also an opportunity for him to promote his strengths and desire to contribute in Ho Chi Minh City" - Mr. Nguyen Van Nen emphasized.
