On the morning of January 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to announce and present the Politburo's Decision on personnel work.
Comrade Le Minh Hung - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission and Mr. Nguyen Van Nen - Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, chaired the conference.
According to the Decision, the Politburo mobilized, assigned and appointed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Minister of Construction to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi will take over this position to replace Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, who was previously assigned as Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee.
With this decision, the Standing leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee currently includes: Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen and four Deputy Secretaries: Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi (Standing), Mr. Phan Van Mai, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le and Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi was born in 1976, from Ca Mau province, is a doctor of construction engineering science, with a high level of political theory.
During his career, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi has held many important positions such as Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Deputy Minister of Construction, Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee.
From April 2021, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi was appointed to the position of Minister of Construction.
