On February 18, the National Assembly conducted a secret ballot to elect the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term.
With a majority of votes in favor, the National Assembly passed a resolution on electing Mr. Vu Hong Thanh, Chairman of the Economic Committee and Mr. Le Minh Hoan, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly.
Previously, Mr. Vu Hong Thanh was Chairman of the Economic Committee of the 15th National Assembly. According to the National Assembly's resolution, the Economic Committee merged with the Finance and Budget Committee to form the Economic and Financial Committee.
Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee.
The new Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Le Minh Hoan, was previously the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
According to the decision, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development merged with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, named the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
Mr. Do Duc Duy, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, was approved to hold the position of Minister of Agriculture and Environment.
Thus, after the reform, the leaders of the 15th National Assembly include Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and 6 Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly: Nguyen Khac Dinh, Nguyen Duc Hai, Tran Quang Phuong, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vu Hong Thanh, Le Minh Hoan.
