Deputy Prime Minister inspects progress of Long Thanh airport project

Dong Nai - On the afternoon of January 9, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and a delegation of the Government and ministries worked and inspected the progress of the Long Thanh airport project.

Reporting at the meeting, the representative of the Ministry of Transport said that in component project 1 (headquarters of agencies), 4/5 projects have started construction and committed to be completed before December 31, 2025. The Animal and Plant Quarantine Station is also committed to start construction early and be completed by December 31, 2025.

Component 2 project (air traffic management works) is scheduled to be completed before December 31, 2025. The Air Traffic Control Tower has completed the cement concrete part and is preparing to lift the roof.

Component 3, invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), is divided into 16 construction and equipment packages. As of the end of December 2024, 3 packages have been basically completed; 7 packages are under construction; 3 packages are selecting construction contractors and 3 other packages are undergoing technical design appraisal.

Package 5.10 for the construction of the passenger terminal is considered the heart and the critical path of the entire Long Thanh airport project with many complex, highly technical items, designed with advanced, modern automation technology...

Component 4 project has also opened bidding for packages and committed to completion by December 31, 2025.

Concluding the working session, regarding the Long Thanh airport project, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested investors, contractors and relevant ministries and branches to focus on providing solutions and speeding up the progress of component projects according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

The adjustment of the critical path must take package 5.10 - construction of passenger terminal as the center.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also focused on directing the removal of difficulties and obstacles for the traffic routes connecting Long Thanh airport such as Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City, Ring Road 4, and the expansion of Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.

Earlier, on the morning of January 9, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha visited and presented gifts on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 to policy families, poor households, workers and laborers in difficult circumstances in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province.
