This morning (February 28), the Navy Command organized the 3rd Ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces (Hero of the People's Armed Forces).
General Secretary To Lam - Secretary of the Central Military Commission - attended and delivered directing speeches at the ceremony. Also attending the ceremony were Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries, Party Central Committee members, leaders of departments, ministries, and sectors.

Reporting on the achievements of the Vietnam People's Navy in the cause of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of the Navy - reviewed the history of construction, combat and growth of the Navy; the particularly outstanding contributions of the Navy contributing to creating overall strength, combat readiness and victory of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA).
Under the leadership and direction of the Party and State, directly the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the love, protection, and assistance of the people nationwide, for more than 70 years, the Navy has continuously developed, matured, and made many glorious feats, some of which have become legends, like the miracles of our Army and nation in the Ho Chi Minh era.

Faced with the requirements of the task of protecting sea and island sovereignty in the new situation, the Navy Command has focused on building in a "lean, compact, strong" direction, with full force components: surface ships, submarines, naval air force, coastal artillery - missiles, marine and naval special forces.
Many types of new and modern vehicles and weapons have been put into service. Training and education - training work is focused on; combining training with building regularity, management and discipline training, contributing to improving the overall quality and combat strength of the entire Navy.

With the motto "rescuing people is a combat task in peacetime, a command from the heart", the Navy always stands side by side with the people in difficult times, natural disasters, and hardships.
The image of Navy officers and soldiers with the ship overcoming big waves and strong winds, promptly supporting, helping, and protecting the lives and property of the people, has become a noble symbol, further illuminating the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers" of the new era.
Navy Commander Tran Thanh Nghiem emphasized: The country is entering a new era - the era of national rise. Besides opportunities and advantages, there are still many intertwined difficulties and challenges.
In that context, the Vietnam People's Navy is continuing to be concerned by the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense in building revolution, regularity, elite, and modernity in the direction of "refined, compact, strong", meeting increasingly high requirements and tasks in managing and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
The glorious feats of arms, the particularly outstanding achievements in the past 70 years and the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the 3rd time will be a great luggage and spiritual motivation, adding more fire of enthusiasm for today's Navy officers and soldiers to be more proud and confident together with the entire Party, people, and army to successfully implement the goal of building a socialist Vietnam, peaceful, independent, democratic, rich, prosperous, civilized, and happy.
