Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Huu Hop - Director of the Provincial Police affirmed that this is an important step to streamline the apparatus and improve operational efficiency according to the direction of the Ministry of Public Security.
Major General Nguyen Huu Hop acknowledged the great contributions of the district-level police force over the past time, highly appreciating the sense of responsibility of many cadres, although still eligible for work, who have proactively applied for early retirement to facilitate the personnel arrangement process.
According to the Director of Quang Nam Provincial Police, before the disolution of the district-level police, 23 leaders at the department and district level voluntarily retired. In addition, 69 officers, including 16 department heads, district police heads and 53 deputy police heads, were mobilized to take up duties at professional departments under the Provincial Police.
From March 1, 2025, Quang Nam Provincial Police will receive 5 new state management tasks, including: Network information security, aviation security, drug addiction treatment and post-drug addiction management, testing and issuance of driving licenses, criminal records.
The Director of the Provincial Police Department requested the entire force to quickly take on the new task, ensuring that security and order work are not interrupted, avoiding complicated problems. He also emphasized that units must proactively deploy work right now to meet practical requirements.
