According to the Central proposed plan, the whole province will arrange 171 administrative units at the commune level into 51 units.
In particular, importing 145 communal administrative units into 48 units, down 97 units (reaching 66.9%); Arrange 26 units into 3 special zones. After arrangement, there will be 27 wards, 21 communes and 3 special zones.
In case the competent authority for approval of Quang Ninh has 2 special zones, the whole province will arrange 171 administrative units at the commune level into 54 units, including: 30 wards, 22 communes and 2 special zones.
Discussing at the conference, the delegates were highly unified with the plan of arranging communal administrative units; At the same time, discussing the names of units, administrative boundaries between units and contents will be implemented in the coming time.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also noted that in the process of researching and agreeing on the plan to name the new commune -level administrative units, localities may consider and choose to take the name of the district administrative unit to name the commune administrative unit in the central area. At the same time, prioritizing the retention of names and places with historical traditions; Famous landmarks, branded in tourism, culture or take the names of one of the communes and wards before merging to name the new commune administrative unit. Based on the opinions of localities, the provincial Steering Committee will summarize and complete the plan to report to the Central Government.
