The National Assembly Standing Committee has just issued Resolution No. 1244/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Long An province for the 2023-2025 period.
Accordingly, the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Tan An city is as follows:
Merge the entire natural area of 1.39 km2 and population of 17,093 people of Ward 2 into Ward 1. After merging, Ward 1 has a natural area of 2.09 km2 and a population of 28,751 people.
After the arrangement, Tan An city has 13 commune-level administrative units, including 8 wards and 5 communes.
Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Ben Luc district as follows:
Adjust a part of the natural area of 8.18 km2 and the population of 303 people of Tan Hoa commune to merge into Luong Hoa commune. After adjustment, Luong Hoa commune has a natural area of 40.14 km2 and a population of 12,455 people.
Adjust a part of the natural area of 4.19 km2, population of 396 people of Tan Hoa commune to merge into Tan Buu commune. After adjustment, Tan Buu commune has a natural area of 22.02 km2 and a population of 10,369 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 2.70 km2 and population of 1,011 people of Tan Hoa commune after adjustment according to the provisions in Point a and Point b of this Clause into An Thanh commune. After merging, An Thanh commune has a natural area of 28.23 km2 and a population of 22,206 people.
After the arrangement, Ben Luc district has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 13 communes and 1 town.
After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Long An province has 15 district-level administrative units, including 13 districts, 1 town and 1 city; 186 commune-level administrative units, including 160 communes, 11 wards and 15 towns.
This Resolution comes into force from December 1, 2024.
The Government, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Long An province and relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution; arranging and perfecting the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the lives of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
The Government directed relevant ministries and Long An provincial authorities to study and develop appropriate reorganization plans for administrative units that are subject to reorganization but have not yet been reorganized in the 2023-2025 period.
Determine the roadmap to complete the necessary standards and conditions to ensure the implementation of the arrangement in the following years in accordance with regulations.
