Mr. Ngo Quang Chien - Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Tri province confirmed that from April 18 to April 20, localities in the province will organize a public consultation on the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units. This is an important step to complete the dossier and submit it to the Government before January 1 as prescribed.
To collect people's opinions, the Department of Home Affairs has sent a project to reorganize commune-level administrative units to localities.
Currently, Quang Tri has 10 district-level administrative units (including 7 districts, 1 island district, 1 city, 1 town) with 119 commune-level units: 13 wards, 11 towns, 95 communes.
In the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units, after the reorganization of Quang Tri, there will be 37 commune-level administrative units, including 3 wards, 33 communes and 1 special area, Con Co. Compared to the present, the whole province has reduced 82 commune-level units, including many merged towns and wards.
Dong Ha City has 2 wards left, including Dong Ha ward (merging wards 1, 3, 4, Dong Giang, Dong Thanh); Nam Dong Ha ward (merging wards 2, 5, Dong Le, Dong Thanh).
Quang Tri town becomes Quang Tri ward (merging wards 1, 2, 3, An Don, Hai Le).
Trieu Phong district left 5 communes, including Trieu Phong 1 (merging Trieu Thanh, Trieu Thuong and Ai Tu towns); Trieu Phong 2 (merging Trieu Ai, Trieu Giang and Trieu Long); Trieu Phong 3 (merged with Trieu Do, Trieu Thuan, Trieu Hoa and Trieu Dai); Trieu Phong 4 (merging Trieu Co, Trieu Trung and Trieu Tai); Trieu Phong 5 (merged with Trieu Trach, Trieu Phuoc and Trieu Tan communes).
Hai Lang district has 5 communes, including Hai Lang commune (merging Hai Truong commune, Dien Sanh town, Hai Dinh); Dong Hai Lang commune (merging Hai Duong commune, Hai An, Hai Khe); Tay Hai Lang (merging Hai Lam commune, Hai Thuong, Hai Phu); Nam Hai Lang (merging Hai Son commune, Hai Phong and Hai Chanh); Trung Hai Lang (merging Hai Quy commune, Hai Hung, Hai Binh).
Gio Linh district has 4 communes, including Tay Linh Linh (merged with Hai Thai commune, Linh Truong, Gio An, Gio An); Dong Gio Linh (merging Gio Mai commune, Gio Hai, Cua Viet town); Gio Linh (merging Gio Quang, Gio My, Phong Binh, Gio Linh town); Bac Gio Linh (merged with Trung Hai, Trung Giang and Trung Son communes).
Vinh Linh district has 5 communes, including Vinh Linh 1 (merging Ho Xa town, Vinh Long, Vinh Chap); Vinh Linh 2 (merging Cua Tung, Vinh Giang, Hien Thanh and Kim Thach towns); Vinh Linh 3 (merger of Vinh Thai, Trung Nam, Vinh Hoa, Vinh Tu); Vinh Linh 4 (merger of Vinh Thuy, Vinh Lam, Vinh Son); Vinh Linh 5 (merger of Vinh O, Vinh Ha, Vinh Khe, Ben Quan town).
Huong Hoa district has 7 communes, including Huong Lap (merged with Huong Lap commune, Huong Viet); Huong Phung (merged with Phung, Huong Son and Huong Linh); Khe Sanh (merging from Khe Sanh, Tan Hop, Huc and Huong Tan towns); Tan Lap commune (merger Tan Lap, Tan Lien and Huong Loc); Lao Bao (merging the town of Lao Bao, Tan Thanh and Tan Long); Leaving (merging, Thanh, Thuan); A Bat (merging A Bat, Ba Floor, XY).
Dakrong district still has 5 communes, including La Lay (merging A Bung, A Ngo); Ta Rut (merging A Vao, Huc Nhi, Ta Rut); Dakrong (merging Ba Nang, Ta Long, Dakrong); Ba Long (merging Ba Long, Trieu Nguyen); Huong Hiep (merging Huong Hiep, Mo O, Krong Klang town).
Cam Lo district has 2 communes, including Cam Lo (merging Cam Thanh, Cam Chinh, Cam Nghia, Cam Lo town); Cam Duong (merging with oranges, oranges, oranges, oranges).
Con Co island district becomes Con Co special area, maintaining its unique geographical and administrative characteristics.
