On the afternoon of October 27 (local time), in the capital Abu Dhabi, during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vinfast car exhibition and introduction event.
Also attending the event were members of the Vietnamese delegation and Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the UAE Ministry of Economy Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.
Previously, in July, Vinfast opened its first showroom in the Middle East, located in Oman. These are important milestones in Vinfast's strategy to expand into the Middle East market.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, General Director of Vingroup, said that Vingroup carries the strong, pioneering and responsible Vietnamese spirit, ready to contribute to the green revolution that is taking place strongly in the Middle East region.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the official visit to the UAE by the Vietnamese delegation this time is of great significance, helping to consolidate and create a breakthrough in the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the UAE. The two highlights of the visit are that the two countries are expected to officially upgrade their relationship to a Comprehensive Partnership and sign the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
The Prime Minister assessed that the relationship between Vietnam and the UAE is developing well, with mutual trust, rapid economic cooperation and great potential... which is a solid foundation for businesses of the two countries to expand cooperation.
The Prime Minister also said that digital transformation and green transformation are strong trends in the world today, with the goal of net zero emissions by 2050. Vietnam and the UAE are pioneers in this field, sharing the same goal of following the world trend.
The UAE has successfully hosted the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28). For its part, Vietnam is also developing clean energy such as wind, solar, hydrogen, etc. Vietnam is also actively perfecting its institutions, ensuring favorable mechanisms and policies for the development of this field.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts and presence of Vingroup and Vinfast in the UAE, contributing to promoting cooperation between the two countries and green transformation in the Middle East region, hoping that citizens of Middle Eastern countries will trust and use Vinfast electric vehicles.
The Prime Minister hopes that Vingroup, with the support of the UAE Government and people, will actively participate with UAE partners in developing strategic infrastructure, promoting digital transformation and developing emerging fields in Vietnam.
The Prime Minister asked the UAE to support Vinfast in particular and Vietnam in general, and work with Vietnam to effectively implement the CEPA Agreement through specific projects and products, bringing about concrete results; hoping that the UAE people will love Vietnam and Vietnamese products and goods.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also asked agencies to coordinate in organizing festivals to introduce Vietnamese goods in the UAE to promote trade connections, supply chains, and production chains between the two countries, bringing benefits to the people.
