On the morning of June 16, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and the high-level Vietnamese delegation left Hanoi capital to attend the Summit to celebrate the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia relations and have bilateral activities in Kazan, Russian Federation from June 16-18, 2026, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister included Politburo members: Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Tran Duc Thang; Central Party Committee members: Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Dang Xuan Phong, Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung, Minister of Finance Ngo Van Tuan, Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan, Governor of the State Bank Pham Duc An, Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Van Hien, Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Ngoc Lam.
The delegation included Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi; Deputy Chairman of the Government Office Don Tuan Phong; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Head of ASEAN ASEAN Vietnam Dang Hoang Giang; Assistant Prime Minister Tran Anh Tuan; Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ho Sy Hung.
This is a very special working trip, the first working trip of the Prime Minister in his new position to the Russian Federation, a partner with traditional, close friendship and a Comprehensive Strategic Partner of Vietnam.
The participation of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung at this ASEAN - Russia Summit continues to consistently demonstrate the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, peace, friendship, cooperation and development; multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations in the spirit of the 14th Party Congress.
This is also a clear message about Vietnam's importance to the ASEAN - Russia Strategic Partnership, contributing to promoting Vietnam's "bridge" role, creating new momentum for ASEAN - Russia relations; as well as for the traditional friendship, strategic trust and effective cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation over the decades.
