On June 15, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung had a phone conversation with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang.
The two Prime Ministers highly appreciated the positive progress in the relations between the two Parties and two countries in the past time, especially in the urgent and timely development and implementation of plans and action programs to implement the important common understanding between the highest leaders of the two Parties and two countries.
The two Prime Ministers agreed to maintain regular, sincere, reliable exchanges and close coordination to continue to concretize high-level agreements and results in the very successful State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam as well as the State visit to Vietnam in 2025 by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.
Regarding cooperation in the coming time, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung proposed that the two sides further consolidate strategic trust, organize good high-level exchange and contact programs and existing cooperation mechanisms, including the 3+3 Strategic Dialogue mechanism for Diplomacy, National Defense, and Public Security of the two countries; promote infrastructure connectivity, form a multimodal transportation system, prioritize railway cooperation, promote connectivity with other countries and regions; promote balanced and sustainable bilateral trade development, soon put into operation the smart border gate model, build economic cooperation zones across borders, and create favorable conditions for trade, investment, and industry cooperation.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung also wished the two sides to further expand cooperation in science and technology, education, high-quality human resource training, health, especially traditional medicine; promote cultural and tourism cooperation, well implement the Vietnam - China Tourism Cooperation Year 2026-2027; continue to promote the effectiveness of existing local cooperation mechanisms, especially between border localities, and expand cooperation between localities with great potential.
Premier Li Qiang affirmed that China always considers Vietnam as a priority direction in neighborly diplomacy policy. China will work with Vietnam to closely follow the high-level common understanding, deeply connect development strategies, and promote substantive cooperation in all fields.
Premier Li Qiang affirmed that China is ready to promote railway cooperation between the two countries and strengthen connectivity with other countries and regions; promote industry connection, agricultural product trade, testing and quarantine cooperation; encourage reputable and strong enterprises to expand high-quality investment, especially in science and technology, innovation; strengthen cooperation in energy assurance, electricity connection; well implement the China - Vietnam Tourism Cooperation Year 2026-2027; strengthen people-to-people friendship exchanges and well implement cooperation projects on social security.
