After more than 25 hours of flight (including technical stopping time in Paris, France), at 5:45 a.m. local time (ie 3:45 p.m. Hanoi time), on July 5, the plane carrying Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the Vietnamese delegation, arrived at Galeao Military Airport in Rio de Janeiro, starting to attend the BRICS Summit and bilateral activities in the Federative Republic of Brazil.
In the cold weather, the red carpet was spread at the foot of the plane stairs, between two rows of honor guards and the sound of the military flute, welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife and the Vietnamese delegation at the Galeao military airport were Mr. Laudemar G. de Aguiar Neto, Deputy Minister for Trade Promotion, Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil; Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi and officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil.
With the theme "Strengthening Southern cooperation to promote more inclusive and sustainable governance", the 2025 BRICS Summit is one of the important multilateral events, with the participation of about 20 senior leaders of countries, the Secretary General of the United Nations and leaders of many international organizations.
Representing Vietnam at the 2025 BRICS Summit as a partner country - the 10th partner country of BRICS, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend and speak at the Summit's Summits on the topics: strengthening multilateralism, economic - financial issues, artificial intelligence, environment, climate change, global healthcare, etc.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings with leaders of countries and organize meetings at the conference, thereby affirming Vietnam's role, desire and responsibility in this multilateral mechanism; at the same time, further deepening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and BRICS member countries and international organizations.
This is also the third time in 3 consecutive years that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has visited Brazil.
Along with attending the 2025 BRICS Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also had a bilateral activity in the Federative Republic of Brazil, aiming to promote multifaceted cooperation with Brazil, especially in the economic field.
During the working trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will meet with Brazilian President Lula da Silva; visit cultural and sports facilities; attend business seminars and work with major Brazilian economic groups. Thereby, contributing to enhancing political commitment and trust, developing the Vietnam - Brazil relationship comprehensively, in depth and sustainably, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.
