Prime Minister launches campaign to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses

Launching a campaign to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, the Prime Minister requested that "everyone contribute what they have, whoever has merit contributes merit, whoever has property contributes property, whoever has a lot contributes a lot, whoever has a little contributes a little".

On the evening of October 5, in Hanoi, the Government and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front organized a program to launch support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide with the theme "Warm home for my people".

Attending the program were Politburo members: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda Nguyen Trong Nghia; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defence; Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security.

At the program, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh gave an important speech to launch a peak emulation campaign to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households and households in difficult circumstances nationwide.

According to the Prime Minister, our Party and State have had many mechanisms and policies on housing, but through review in localities, there are still hundreds of thousands of households living in temporary and dilapidated houses, especially in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, border areas and islands.

The Head of Government emphasized that our people have a saying: “Settling down and having a career”. The Party and State have a policy: not to sacrifice fairness, social progress, social security and the environment to pursue mere growth.

Implementing the Party's guidelines, on April 13, 2024, the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien launched the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide in 2025, in Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province.

The event received active and effective response and participation from the entire political system, people and businesses.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister acknowledged, highly appreciated and sincerely thanked the noble gestures of the people, businesses, ministries, branches and localities that have contributed to this emulation movement of profound humanistic significance.

The Prime Minister emphasized that from now until the end of 2025, there are only about 450 days and nights left to complete the goal of eliminating all temporary and dilapidated houses.

With a huge amount of work, the Prime Minister calls on the entire Party, people, army, political system and business community to join hands, unite, accelerate and make further breakthroughs in joining hands to eliminate all temporary and dilapidated houses.

The Prime Minister emphasized: All should be done in the spirit of "Whoever has something contributes, whoever has property contributes, whoever has merit contributes, whoever has a lot contributes a lot, whoever has little contributes a little" so that all people can live in prosperity, happiness, in national love, compatriotism and no one is left behind in the era of national development.
