At the meeting, Mr. Do Minh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province reported on the preparation work to visit and give Tet gifts to policy families, people with meritorious services to the revolution, poor households, workers and laborers in difficult circumstances in the area.
Accordingly, the province has paid preferential allowances in January and February to more than 64,000 people with revolutionary contributions and their relatives, with a total cost of over 420 billion VND; paid social allowances in January to 187,494 subjects and households caring for and nurturing social protection subjects, with a total cost of over 142 billion VND; cared for, treated, ensured good policies and regimes, and organized Tet and spring activities for more than 2,000 subjects being cared for, nurtured, and managed at social assistance facilities, nursing facilities for people with revolutionary contributions, and public drug rehabilitation facilities in the province.
All levels and sectors in the province have arranged budgets and mobilized socialized resources with a total amount of money and goods worth over 375 billion VND to give to policy families, poor households, and people in difficult circumstances.
Regarding the employment situation, salary, and Tet bonus of workers in enterprises, the average salary of workers in enterprises in 2024 will reach 7.46 million VND/person/month, an increase of 330,000 VND compared to 2023.
The highest salary is 410 million VND/person at FDI enterprises; the lowest is 3.45 million VND/person at private enterprises and FDI enterprises.
The popular form of Tet bonus for businesses is to give an additional month's salary without social insurance (13th month salary). The average bonus of employees at businesses is 5.13 million VND/person (an increase of 900,000 VND compared to the 2024 Lunar New Year).
The highest bonus is 410 million VND/person and the lowest is 70,000 VND/person.
According to Mr. Do Minh Tuan, Thanh Hoa has done a good job of supporting the construction of houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties. Up to now, the total support fund is over 282 billion VND; has supported, built, and repaired more than 4,200 houses for poor households, contributing to creating a safe and happy "home" for the poor to enjoy the spring and welcome Tet.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister kindly inquired about the people's preparations for Tet. On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister sent his warm regards and New Year wishes to union members and workers at the meeting. Through local leaders, the Prime Minister sent his regards to policy families and disadvantaged households in the area.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the activities of Thanh Hoa province's leaders at all levels to take care of people during Tet, especially the activities to take care of workers and people in difficult circumstances.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated Thanh Hoa's development achievements in 2024 with a growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 reaching 12.16%, exceeding the plan and ranking second in the country (after Bac Giang province with a growth of 13.85%); budget revenue reaching 56,735 billion VND, exceeding 59.5% of the estimate, up 31.4% over the same period, the highest ever, ranking first in the North Central region and 7th in the country.
Excited about the economic development achievements in 2024, the Prime Minister suggested that Thanh Hoa needs to maintain the development momentum, review the 5-year targets to see which targets have been achieved well and further promote them, and focus on implementing which targets have not been achieved.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the work of caring for social security, people with meritorious services and the poor in Thanh Hoa in recent times and requested that the Party Committee and authorities at all levels of Thanh Hoa province review the situation of poor and disadvantaged households to see who is lacking food and clothing in order to promptly take measures to care for, encourage and support them.
"All levels and sectors need to reach out to the people, especially pay attention to families with meritorious services to the revolution, and families in difficulty to find out which poor households have not had Tet, which households lack rice, food, or sick people to care for and support" - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested.
The Prime Minister affirmed that workers are the driving force for development, so trade unions and authorities at all levels need to focus on caring for and promptly encouraging union members and workers to welcome a happy and peaceful spring, creating an exciting atmosphere for the new working year.
The Prime Minister noted that special attention should be paid to the workforce who are working through the night, through Tet, and through holidays on key projects.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the participation and support of the authorities at all levels and the people of Thanh Hoa in implementing the 500kV line 3 project. Promoting that spirit, the Prime Minister believes that Thanh Hoa will be the leading locality in implementing the high-speed railway project in the coming time.
After giving a speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang, along with Central leaders, leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and leaders of Thanh Hoa province visited and presented 300 gifts to union members, workers, people in difficult circumstances, and policy families in the area.
