At the invitation of Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister will also attend the 10th Ayeyawady - Chao Phraya - Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit (ACMECS), the 11th Cambodia - Laos - Myanmar - Vietnam (CLMV) Summit and work in China.
The Government News reported that on the morning of November 5, welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at Changshui International Airport (Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China) on the Chinese side were Standing Committee Member, Head of the Organization Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Liu Fei; Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei; and Deputy Director of the Yunnan Provincial Foreign Affairs Committee Ma Zuoxin.
Welcoming the Prime Minister to Vietnam were Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai; Vietnamese Consul General in Kunming Hoang Minh Son; Vietnamese Consul General in Guangzhou Nguyen Viet Dung; Vietnamese Consul General in Nanning Do Nam Trung; officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in China, the Vietnamese Consulate General and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Kunming.
During his working trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to work in Yunnan Province and Chongqing City. In Kunming City (Yunnan Province), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend and speak at the Retreat and Plenary Session of the 8th GMS Summit; attend and speak at the 10th ACMECS Summit; attend and speak at the 11th CLMV Summit; and have bilateral meetings with leaders of countries within the framework of attending the conferences.
Through the meetings, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will convey the message that Vietnam always attaches importance to and contributes to promoting the GMS, ACMECS, CLMV mechanisms, as well as the overall Mekong sub-regional cooperation to create breakthroughs in the new development period; affirming the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, being a friend, a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will also have bilateral activities with China in Yunnan and Chongqing, including meetings with Chinese leaders and provinces and cities; visits to economic and social establishments in China, meetings with overseas Vietnamese and the Vietnamese community in China... Thereby, continuing to consolidate and promote the friendly neighborly relationship, the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the "Vietnam - China Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance" to develop more deeply, comprehensively and sustainably.
