On September 8, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province said that it had just received Notice No. 463/TB-VPCP on the Prime Minister's conclusion at the working session with the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the province's efforts in socio-economic development in the first 6 months of the year, and requested to focus on promoting key projects.
For the Quang Tri airport project, the Prime Minister directed investors to urgently construct, striving to complete it by April 30, 2026. The Provincial People's Committee is assigned to study and adjust the planning between the Ben Hai River and the Thach Han River to form a "four in one" airport urban area, including urban, industrial, high-tech and service areas. The Ministry of Construction will study the port upgrade plan, aiming to receive A350 aircraft.
For Dong Hoi airport, Quang Tri province was assigned to coordinate to speed up the construction progress of the port and air traffic tower, ensuring quality, striving to complete on April 30, 2026.
In addition to the two airport projects, the Prime Minister also directed the urgent implementation of My Thuy seaport, in which port No. 1 strives to be completed by November 2025, port No. 2 by March 2026, and to start construction of ports No. 3 and 4 in September 2025.
Quang Tri province needs to focus on investing in completing 22 km of National Highway 15D connecting My Thuy seaport with Cam Lo - La Son expressway in 2026, the remaining sections will be completed before 2030.
According to the Prime Minister, the simultaneous implementation of key infrastructure projects, including 2 airports, expected to reach the finish line on April 30, 2026, will open up new development momentum for Quang Tri and the North Central region.
