General Secretary and President To Lam receives Ambassadors presenting their credentials

General Secretary and President To Lam hopes that the Ambassadors will play their role as a "bridge" of friendship and cooperation, nurturing and developing relations with Vietnam.

On the afternoon of October 18, at the Presidential Palace, General Secretary and President To Lam received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand and four concurrent Ambassadors who came to present their credentials to assume their duties in Vietnam.

According to VNA, receiving Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya, General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated the Ambassador on his new assignment in Vietnam; believing that with his experience and dynamism, the Ambassador will contribute to further promoting the development of relations between the two countries.

Pleased to see the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership developing increasingly deeply and substantially, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Thailand continues to be an important partner of Vietnam in the region.

The General Secretary and President stressed that Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting trade and investment cooperation with Thailand, one of Vietnam's leading trade partners and the second largest investor in ASEAN; cultural, tourism, educational cooperation, local connectivity, and people-to-people exchange are promoted through many diverse and rich forms.

The General Secretary and President expressed his hope that during his term, the Ambassador will coordinate with relevant Vietnamese agencies to strengthen trade and investment promotion activities, connect the economy, businesses and localities, and strive to bring bilateral trade turnover to 25 billion USD soon in the coming time.

Thai Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya thanked General Secretary and President To Lam for taking the time to meet him and expressed his honor to receive the assignment as Ambassador to Vietnam.

The Ambassador congratulated Vietnam on being one of the 20 countries with the fastest growing economies in the world, saying that this result was achieved thanks to the very important role and contribution of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

The Thai Ambassador said that during his term, he will promote cooperation between the two countries in all areas: economy, trade, investment, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange, contributing to promoting the relationship between the two countries to a new height, for the benefit of the people of both countries.

On the same afternoon, the General Secretary and President received the credentials of four concurrent Ambassadors from Comoros, Burkina Faso, Niger and Suriname.

Speaking at the reception, on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, the General Secretary and President warmly welcomed the appointed Ambassadors.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that after nearly 40 years of Renovation, Vietnam is standing at a new historical starting point, "a new era, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise".

The General Secretary and President hopes that during their tenure, the Ambassadors will fulfill their role as "bridges" of friendship and cooperation, further nurturing and developing relations between Vietnam and the countries they represent.

Emphasizing that with the existing relationship foundation and the active contributions of the Ambassadors, the relationship between Vietnam and other countries will continue to have good developments in the coming time.

The General Secretary and President believes that the term of office in Vietnam will leave a good impression on the Ambassadors, helping them understand more about the country, culture, history of Vietnam, and the friendliness and hospitality of the Vietnamese people.
