This morning (November 6), at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, under the chairmanship of General Secretary To Lam, the Politburo and the Secretariat held a conference of former Party and State leaders to contribute comments on the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, according to VNA.
Also attending were former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; President Luong Cuong, former Presidents Nguyen Minh Triet and Truong Tan Sang; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; Mr. Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Inspection Commission, Politburo members, Secretaries of the Party Central Committee, and leaders of several central ministries and branches.
At the conference, delegates focused on giving opinions and suggestions on the political report of the 13th Party Central Committee, the report assessing the 5-year implementation of the 10-year socio-economic development strategy for the 2021-2030 period, the direction and tasks of socio-economic development for the 2026-2030 period, the report summarizing the work of Party building and implementation of the Party Charter, and the report summarizing a number of theoretical and practical issues of the country's renewal in the direction of socialism over the past 40 years.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam respectfully sent his best wishes to the leaders and former leaders of the Party and State through the periods.
General Secretary To Lam said that the 14th National Party Congress is expected to take place in January 2026, a political event of special importance to the country.
General Secretary To Lam emphasized that right from the 8th Central Conference, it was decided to establish 5 subcommittees, including 3 subcommittees on documents, the socio-economic subcommittee and the Party Charter subcommittee, which are preparing draft documents to submit to the congress.
Up to now, the Politburo has also directed subcommittees to actively prepare the content of documents to be presented at the 9th Central Conference and to approve the outline of documents at the recent 10th Central Conference.
In order to prepare the most thoughtful draft documents to be sent to the Party Congresses at all levels in December for comments, additions and completion until the 14th Party Congress approves them, General Secretary To Lam stated that the documents presented to the 14th Party Congress must be the product and crystallization of the collective intelligence of the entire Party, people and army.
"Today, the Politburo and the Secretariat are holding this conference to respectfully seek opinions from former Party and State leaders of all terms on the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress, which have been completed and revised one step after the 10th Central Conference," General Secretary To Lam said.
