Kon Tum - Regarding the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that this is a major policy, a historic opportunity for the new Quang Ngai province to promote its potential.

On the afternoon of June 2, General Secretary of the Party Central Committee To Lam had a working session with the Standing Committee of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee.

Attending the meeting, on the side of the Central Mission were comrades: Le Minh Hung - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Committee; Nguyen Duy Ngoc - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee; Do Van Chien - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front (Fatherland Front); Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Politburo, Director of Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, Chairman of the Central theoretical Council; Le Hoai Trung - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Office; Le Thanh Long - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and leaders of a number of central departments, ministries and branches.

At the meeting, Kon Tum and Quang Ngai Provincial Party Secretaries reported on the results of implementing the recent resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee. Including the arrangement and streamlining of the organizational apparatus, administrative units and socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security, Party building, and social security work in the two provinces.

Strictly implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. Implement well the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to plan, with the goal of no more people in the province without housing or having to live in temporary and dilapidated houses.

The two provinces are also coordinating to effectively implement the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, merging commune-level administrative units, building a model of organizing local government at 2 levels, not organizing at district level.

Kon Tum and Quang Ngai focus on personnel work at the newly established provincial and commune levels in accordance with Conclusion No. 150-KL/TW, dated April 14, 2025 of the Politburo and related regulations.

At the conference, General Secretary To Lam acknowledged and praised the results that the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee and the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee have achieved in the past time.

The General Secretary emphasized that from the backward infrastructure foundation and small economic scale, Kon Tum and Quang Ngai provinces have taken advantage of their potential and advantages to develop and achieved important, quite comprehensive achievements in all socio-economic fields.

Regarding the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that this is a major policy, a profound change of institutional innovation but very correct, the Party's will is in keeping with the people's wishes. This is a historic opportunity for Kon Tum and Quang Ngai provinces to jointly promote the potential and strengths of the two localities, planning a long-term vision.

Therefore, in order to implement comprehensively and effectively, General Secretary To Lam proposed that the two provinces of Kon Tum and Quang Ngai continue to lead and direct the good information and propaganda to create high consensus and feel secure among officials, party members, civil servants, officials and people; Actively listen, absorb and promptly answer the responsible participation of organizations and individuals.

Pay attention to reviewing, assessing the impact and implementing well the regime and policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers affected by the arrangement, especially for ethnic minorities and people of all religions. Develop and implement a plan to arrange and use surplus headquarters in the direction of prioritizing the fields of culture, health, and education.

Carefully study, take advantage of and exploit the potential and strengths of the two provinces at present and the advantages of regional linkage when merging the two provinces to establish the new Quang Ngai province, expand the space for socio-economic development, ensure comprehensiveness, inheritance, do not greatly disrupt people's lives, do not leave areas vacant, do not miss State management, and meet the task of maintaining national defense and security.

Re-defining the position and role of the new Quang Ngai province in the connection with the Central Coast provinces, the Central Highlands, the provinces of Southern Laos, Northeast Cambodia, and Northeast Thailand along the East-West economic corridor.

Quang Ngai is the new province that has both an international border gate on the mainland border and a seaport for trade in goods.

The General Secretary expressed his confidence with the tradition of solidarity, self -reliance, self -reliance, desire to rise, intelligence, bravery and high consensus of the Party Committee, authorities, people of all ethnic groups in Kon Tum and Quang Ngai province will successfully complete all tasks assigned by the Party, State and people to contribute to building an increasingly developed and rich homeland.
