UNESCO Director General Audi Azoulay expressed his joy and gratitude at meeting General Secretary To Lam again in Vietnam and praised cooperation with Vietnam for nearly 50 years, recognizing Vietnam as one of the most active members of UNESCO and affirming that the Vietnam - UNESCO cooperative relationship has never been as good as it is today.
The UNESCO Director General expressed his impression of Vietnam's recent socio-economic development achievements and said that Vietnam is a model that many other countries can learn from.
The General Director highly appreciated the vision and wise leadership of the Party and State through major strategies and policies implemented by Vietnam in recent times, associated with institutional reform, promoting education, culture, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, creating a key driving force for national development, typically the policy of exempting tuition fees for all students in public schools from 2025, the development of strategies and action programs on promoting digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence in Vietnam and the policy of promoting the private economy, including creating conditions for the private sector to participate in UNESCO activities in Vietnam.
Also on the afternoon of June 27, at the Vietnam Women's Museum, General Secretary To Lam's wife, Ms. Ngo Phuong Ly and UNESCO Director General Aud Aud Audie Azoulay attended the "We cook" painting exhibition as special guests.
Speaking at the exhibition, Ms. Ngo Phuong Ly expressed her special impression of the project's name - "We THER" - although concise, it contains many layers of profound meaning. According to the wife, that phrase not only carries an optimistic and hopeful message, expressing faith in the ability to overcome adversity, but also contains comfort and encouragement among those who accompany and face difficulties together.
UNESCO Director General Audi Azoulay expressed his gratitude for the presence of the First Lady at the exhibition, considering this a vivid demonstration of the spirit of accompanying for gender equality.
