At the invitation of General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, President of the Republic of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi and his wife paid an official visit to Vietnam from September 8 to 10, 2024.
The visit takes place in the context of Vietnam and Mozambique aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (June 25, 1975 - June 25, 2025), a milestone marking the good developments of bilateral relations in recent times.
Following the success of the visit of President of the Mozambican National Assembly Esperanca Bias to Vietnam in June 2022 and the visit of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to Mozambique in September 2023, this official visit of President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi promises to open up new cooperation frameworks, while creating momentum for the implementation of existing cooperation frameworks between the two countries to take place more effectively and strongly.
The fine traditional friendship is a solid foundation for the strong development of solidarity, friendship and trustworthy cooperation between Vietnam and Mozambique over the past nearly 50 years.
During the visit, President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi is expected to meet and hold talks with senior leaders of Vietnam, visit and work with a number of prominent businesses, educational, cultural and historical institutions. The two sides are also expected to sign a number of important cooperation documents in areas of mutual need, potential and strength.
