According to Decision No. 668/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed Major General Nguyen Ngoc Lam - Member of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Director of the Police Department to investigate crimes related to corruption, economics, smuggling, holds the position of Deputy Minister of Public Security . The term of appointment is 5 years.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang congratulated the two honored personnel appointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Public Security.
Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that Lieutenant General Pham The Tung and Major General Nguyen Ngoc Lam are officers with a strong political ideological stance and good moral qualities; are officers with basic training and maturity from the grassroots police, direct combat units.

Major General Nguyen Ngoc Lam, born in 1973, hometown Hop Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province. He once held the following positions: Deputy Chief of the Office of the Police Investigation Agency; Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Police; Director of the Police Department investigating corruption, economic and smuggling crimes (C03, Ministry of Public Security).
