Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee was assigned the task of Permanent Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

The decision to assign Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai to perform the duties of Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee was signed by Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai on October 8.

According to this decision, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai will be responsible for directing and handling the daily records and work of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. He will also assign Vice Chairmen and members of the People's Committee to attend activities of Central agencies, the City Party Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, the Party Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and agencies and units under the Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Hai is also responsible for organizing, implementing, monitoring and urging the implementation of the working regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual work programs.

He will also direct the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in its working relations with the Office of the President, Office of the Government, Offices of Ministries, branches, Central agencies, Office of the City Party Committee, Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, born in 1967, from Long An, has a Master's degree in Law and Advanced Political Theory. Mr. Hai has held many important positions in his career.

Before being elected Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in May 2024, he held positions such as Director of the Institute of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs, Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee.
