On the morning of April 15, General Secretary To Lam; Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping attended the promoting the Vietnam -China Railway Cooperation Mechanism.
Activities take place within the framework of the state visit to Vietnam of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping from 14 to 15.4.
Earlier, on the afternoon of April 14, in the talks between General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary, President of China Xi Jinping, the two sides agreed to strengthen the actual cooperation in the fields, establishing a railway cooperation committee between the two governments to promote railway cooperation.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides promote the connection of strategic transport infrastructure, offer the best incentives on preferential loans, technology transfer and human resource training, the highest effort in deployment to ensure the progress of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.
Railway cooperation is also the content exchanged in the meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping. The Prime Minister wants Vietnam and China to improve the quality and effectiveness of actual cooperation in all fields, in which, high priority for rail cooperation, especially in credit, technology transfer and human resource training, soon signing ODA loan agreements to start construction of Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong route in 2025 and followed by Dong Dang - Ha Noi, Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping welcomed and highly appreciated the opinions of the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on measures to strengthen the relationship between the two parties and the two countries, hoping that the two sides will actively promote the railway cooperation mechanism between the two countries.
