On August 9, the Thanh Mien Commune Party Committee (Hai Phong City) held its first Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term. This is a political event of special significance after the commune was established on the basis of merging administrative units according to the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
Thanh Mien commune was established on the basis of merging 4 administrative units: Thanh Mien town, Tu Cuong commune, Cao Thang and Ngu Hung. After the merger, the commune has a large scale with 46 branches and affiliated Party Committees, a total of 2,142 Party members, and is one of the communes with the largest Party organization in the city.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Do Manh Hien - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee acknowledged and praised the important results that the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Mien commune have achieved in the past time. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee emphasized that organizing the first Commune Party Congress is an important first step in the process of consolidating the political system, unifying actions and orienting development for the coming period.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee suggested that the Commune Party Committee for the new term maximize the advantages of geographical location, convenient connectivity and transportation systems; focus on shifting the economic structure towards increasing the proportion of industry, construction, and services; properly exploiting land funds, investing in urban infrastructure development, trade, services, and tourism.
Along with economic development, localities need to pay attention to building a clean and strong political system; improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the government; building a team of cadres with capacity, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility; continuing to perfect the organizational apparatus in the direction of streamlining and operating effectively; maintaining political stability and ensuring security and order in the area.
At the Congress, delegates discussed and approved important documents: Political report of the Commune Party Committee Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term; Review report of the old Executive Committee; Report on synthesizing comments on documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress; Report on comments on documents of the first City Party Committee Congress, term 2025-2030.
The Congress also announced the decisions of the City Party Committee on personnel for the new term. Mr. Nguyen The Tai - Former Chairman of the People's Committee of the old Thanh Mien district was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Thanh Mien Commune Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
