Considering the proposal to increase salaries for commune and ward officials

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the proposal to increase salaries for cadres and civil servants at the commune and ward levels will be studied and submitted to the competent authority for decision when resources are balanced.

Ms. La Thi Hong (character's name has been changed) expressed that since the merger, each individual who is an employee, specialist at the commune and ward levels has had to work with high intensity, day and night, on average handling 1,500-2,000 records per month. However, their salary only ranges from an average of 7-8 million VND/month.

Ms. Hong proposed to increase salaries for cadres and employees at the commune and ward levels, commensurate with the current workload. At the same time, it is necessary to consider merging principals and deputy principals to reduce the cumbersomeness of the education apparatus and select truly dedicated and talented cadres.

Regarding Ms. Hong's reflection and recommendation, the Ministry of Home Affairs responded on the Electronic Information Portal.

According to the provisions of the Law on Cadres, Civil Servants and the Law on Public Employees, cadres, civil servants and public employees (including education sector officials) perform their duties and tasks according to the provisions of law.

Currently, the salary regime for cadres, civil servants, and public employees in the political system from the central to the commune level is implemented uniformly according to the provisions of law.

Implementing the Conclusion of the Politburo, in the coming time, the Government will summarize and evaluate Resolution 19-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the Central Executive Committee on continuing to innovate the organization and management system, improving the quality and efficiency of public service units.

Accordingly, public service units (including schools) will be rearranged to streamline the apparatus, effectiveness and efficiency, and reduce state budget expenditures.

The Ministry of Home Affairs emphasized that the issue of salary increase recommended by readers will be studied by ministries and specialized agencies and submitted to competent authorities for consideration and decision when balancing the country's resources.
