The miracle in the "wind valley" of Savannakhet
In September 2025, many experts were surprised when T&T Group quickly completed a 220kV line of more than 50km from Savan 1 Wind Power Plant (Laos) to the connecting tower in Vietnam. Within just over six months, the "backbone" project was completed, creating a rare milestone in the field of cross-border energy infrastructure.
Previously, in January 2025, the Lao Ministry of Planning and Investment awarded a project transfer contract to Savan 1 Wind Power Company Limited, a member unit of T&T Group. The contract is valid for 25 years, allowing enterprises to design, build, own, operate and export electricity to Vietnam. With a total capacity of 495 MW and an investment capital of 768 million USD, Savan 1 has become one of the largest large-scale domestic wind power projects that Vietnamese enterprises are implementing abroad. T&T Group also signed a capital arrangement agreement with the Military Bank; signed an electricity purchase and sale contract with EVN, ensuring a financial foundation and commercial output from the beginning.
According to experts, the difference of Savan 1 lies in the implementation method: both building a factory and investing in a transmission line. On the Savannakhet "wind field", T&T workers on one hand urgently installed giant turbines, on the other hand overcame difficulties to complete the independent transmission line. The rapid completion of the 220 kV line has affirmed T&T Group's organizational capacity, implementation capability and long-term commitment.

Not only meaningful to investors, Savan 1 also creates many positive impacts. Clean power sources from Laos to Vietnam will contribute to diversifying supply sources, developing green energy, and strengthening national energy security. For Laos, the project will contribute to ensuring social security, improving the environment, increasing budget revenue, and improving the quality of local infrastructure.
From a larger perspective, the success of the project is a testament to the concretization of high-level cooperation agreements between Vietnam and Laos, bringing the traditional friendship to a stage of practical and effective cooperation. That is also proof of the philosophy of "Tell the truth - do the truth - create real value" that T&T Group has repeatedly affirmed.
Currently, T&T Group continues to propose the development of the Savan 2 project, thereby forming a wind power "cluster" of nearly 1,000 MW in Laos. The two projects using shared transport infrastructure and equipment transport routes will help reduce investment costs, speed up implementation progress; at the same time, it shows the strategic vision and seriousness in building a green energy corridor for Vietnam - Laos.
Imprints on the national energy map
If the project cluster in Savannakhet demonstrates the cross-border energy investment strategy, in Vietnam, T&T Group will also build a solid foundation in the energy sector. Officially "paving the way" with Phuoc Ninh Solar Power Plant in June 2020, paving the way for a series of energy projects bearing the T&T Group brand across the country, up to now, Bau Hien's group has implemented accumulated investment with a total investment capacity of nearly 2,900 MW. Of which, 10 wind and solar power plants with a total capacity of 877 MW will be completed and put into operation.
From this platform, T&T continues to make breakthroughs with national-scale projects. A typical example is the 1,500 MW Hai Lang LNG gas power project with Korean partners Hanwha, Kogas, Kospo. When put into operation in 2029, the project will turn Quang Tri into the largest clean energy center in the Central region.
Not stopping there, T&T Group also continues to pioneer in potential new energy fields such as offshore wind power, LNG Hub, green hydrogen; investment in power plants producing energy storage battery systems (BESS) ... Projects aim to provide electricity to the national grid, sell electricity to FDI enterprises under the DPPA direct power purchase mechanism, provide energy storage solutions for renewable energy plants, provide green power sources to produce green hydrogen. Many projects have been approved in the Power Plan VIII implementation plan and are continuing to be added to the adjusted Power Plan VIII.
The "power" of T&T Group also comes from the international cooperation network. Mr. Hien's Group "shares hands" with many world-leading partners in the energy sector such as: Hanwha, Kogas, Kospo, SK Innovation (Korea); erex, Marubeni, Sojittz, JPower (Japan); Cospower, Gedi, Goldwind (China), BP (Vuong Quoc Anh), Vinacom (Laos) ... in technology development and governance. This is a guarantee for the reputation and capacity of a Vietnamese enterprise in the global market.
By 2035, T&T Group aims to achieve a total power generation capacity of 16-20 GW, accounting for about 10% of the total installed capacity of the Vietnamese power system, most of which is from clean energy sources such as solar power, wind power, LNG, biomass and green hydrogen/ammonite to achieve the common goal of bringing Vietnam to net zero emissions by 2050.
In the context of the Politburo's recent issuance of Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW on ensuring national energy security until 2030, with a vision to 2045, this strategy of T&T Group is a clear demonstration of the aspiration of the private sector in the process of accompanying the country in developing sustainable energy; creating a foundation for the double-digit growth target in the future.
