Pioneering the application of technology in green energy development
At the Vietnam - China - ASEAN 2025 International Energy Exhibition and Forum, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh - Deputy General Director of T&T Group said that the T&T Group - Cospowers (China) joint venture will launch energy storage batteries in 2026. This is a strategy that helps T&T Group affirm its pioneering position in energy solutions and takes the lead in the need for integrated storage batteries for renewable energy projects in Vietnam.
From April 24-26, 2025, the Vietnam - China - ASEAN Energy Forum will take place in Hanoi with the participation of many large corporations in the region. At the event, T&T Group and Cospowers introduced a new storage battery model, using Z-shaped layering technology, helping to increase energy density, stabilize structure and prolong life, suitable for large-scale energy storage.

Vietnam is strongly developing renewable energy, so storage batteries become a key factor, ensuring energy security and opening up export opportunities. The VIII Power Plan stipulates that solar power projects must have batteries that store at least 10% of their capacity.
T&T Group has cooperated with Cospowers since 2024, planning to build a storage battery factory in Vietnam. Phase 1 with a capacity of 2 GWh/year will operate in 2026, phase 2 will increase the total capacity to about 10 GWh/year. The consortium's goal is to account for 40-50% of the market share of battery storage in Vietnam and aim for export.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh shared: "We have researched together from site selection, factory design to suitable product solutions. T&T's goal is to become a leading unit in the energy storage market and expand to the world".
T&T Group expands energy cooperation in the region
The cooperation with Cospowers affirms T&T Group's pioneering role in developing green energy in Vietnam, while also demonstrating the rare efforts of the enterprise in the ASEAN - China cooperation model. T&T Group also cooperates with major partners such as GEDI (China Energy), Goldwind, Envision.
The Group also expanded its investment to the region with the Savan 1 wind power project in Laos, with a capacity of 495 MW, exporting electricity to Vietnam. This is the largest on-road wind power project that T&T Group has implemented, marking a strategic step "crossing the border". Phase 1 (300 MW) will be completed in 2025, phase 2 (195 MW) will be completed in 2027. The Group also plans to invest in additional energy projects in Laos, aiming to connect the power grid and export clean electricity in ASEAN.
At the Forum, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh proposed solutions to promote Vietnam - China - ASEAN cooperation through legal improvement, infrastructure development, information sharing and encouraging private participation. She emphasized that "privateization of regional cooperation" will help quickly implement the Net Zero commitment and sustainable development.
The mark of Vietnam's leading energy developer
T&T Group not only invests in energy but also demonstrates its desire to accompany Vietnam in sustainable development. The Group aims to achieve 16,000 - 20,000 MW by 2035, accounting for 10% of the national electricity capacity, mainly from clean sources such as solar power, wind power, LNG, biomass and green hydrogen/ammon,000, towards net zero emissions by 2050.
Currently, T&T Group has operated 10 solar and wind power projects with a total capacity of 877 MW; a joint venture with KOGAS, KOSPO, HANWHA to implement the Hai Lang LNG project of 1,500 MW in Quang Tri and the Savan 1 wind power project (Laos), raising the total investment capacity to more than 2,800 MW.
T&T Group considers cooperation with large corporations such as SK, Erex, Marubeni, Cospowers, Goldwind as the key to development, while gradually mastering technology, promoting localization of equipment, developing supporting industries and creating jobs for people.
Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Tri Long, former Director of the Institute for Price Market Research (Ministry of Finance) commented: T&T is the architect of the energy transition in Vietnam, with the responsibility of green development and the aspiration to become a leading group in the region.
