Over 55,000 hours of overtime
On the morning of August 8 at Da Nang, the Central Power Corporation of Central Vietnam (EVNCPC) held a meeting to commend and reward 14 teams and 33 individuals for their outstanding achievements in supporting the construction of the 500kV three-phase power transmission line, from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen). In total, EVNCPC mobilized 463 staff members to participate in this project.
Earlier, from May 28 to July 30, 2024, after more than two months of working in harsh weather conditions, including heat and floods in mountainous areas of three provinces of Ha Tinh, Nghe An, and Thanh Hoa, the shock troops of EVNCPC overcame numerous difficulties with 16,133 working days and over 55,000 hours of overtime.
With the slogan “overcoming the sun, winning the rain”, “eating while hurrying, sleeping while urgent”, this force completed a large amount of work assigned to them, ensuring quality: erecting 24 poles with a total weight of 2,242 tons of steel, with heights ranging from 50 to 82 meters, and weights ranging from 50 to 332 tons at each location.
With a massive workload, construction on a rugged terrain and mainly transporting materials by hand, the staff and engineers of EVNCPC from 13 Power Companies and the Central Vietnam Electricity Service Company worked tirelessly. Everyone worked diligently according to the Prime Minister's instructions, eating and sleeping on the construction site with the determination to complete the task.
Proud to have contributed their efforts
In his speech at the commendation ceremony, Mr. Le Huu Danh, Deputy General Director and Head of the Forward Command of EVNCPC, said that despite numerous difficulties and challenges, the EVNCPC shock troops were extremely happy and proud to have contributed a part of their efforts to the large-scale 500kV three-phase power transmission project of EVN.
Mr. Danh shared: “In this force, not a few members had previously participated in the 500kV one-phase power transmission line over 30 years ago and are now about to retire, but they still volunteered to join the 500kV three-phase power transmission line to contribute and share their experience with their colleagues.
The experiences that the shock troops have accumulated during the process of supporting the construction of the 500kV power transmission line will be further utilized to effectively manage and operate the power grid of EVNCPC in the coming time.”
Mr. Ngô Tấn Cư, General Director of EVNCPC, recognized and highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of 463 staff members directly involved in supporting the construction of the key project of the power industry.
These include members of the Forward Command, engineers, electricians, medical staff, and drivers who worked tirelessly to complete the task, ensuring absolute labor safety.
Notably, throughout the construction process, the leaders of EVN, EVNCPC, and other units have always shown special attention and support to the shock troops participating in the construction of the 500kV three-phase power transmission line.
“Through the online video conference to 13 Power Companies and the Central Vietnam Electricity Service Company, I would like to thank the staff members who completed the task assigned by the General Director of EVNCPC and returned home safely,” the General Director said.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Electricity Workers' Union also awarded rewards and encouragement to all 463 staff members of EVNCPC who participated in the construction of the project.
The 500kV three-phase power transmission line from Quang Trach to Pho Noi has a total length of approximately 519 km, passing through 211 communes, wards, and towns of 43 districts, towns, and cities in nine provinces. The total investment in the project is VND 22,000 billion.
The project not only increases the transmission capacity between Central Vietnam and Northern Vietnam from 2,200 MW to 5,000 MW but also ensures stable power supply to Northern Vietnam, especially during the hot summer months.
