On September 10, in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) launched a campaign to support people in localities affected by the recent storm No. 3 (Yagi), in order to help people overcome the consequences caused by the storm.
Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) made landfall in the northern coastal provinces and caused serious damage to people and property in the provinces and cities it passed through.
At the same time, the post-storm circulation also caused heavy rain in many provinces and cities, causing flooding, flash floods, and landslides, continuing to cause many serious consequences and damage to people and property in many localities.
In particular, many people who are Oil and Gas employees working at oil and gas units and projects in Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Quang Ninh... were also affected and suffered damage to many assets and facilities, affecting their daily lives.
Responding to the call of the General Secretary, President, Prime Minister for businesses, agencies, and organizations to contribute money and efforts to support localities in overcoming the damage caused by storm No. 3; In the spirit of mutual love and support for people in flood-affected areas, including many Oil and Gas employees, to overcome storms and floods, quickly overcome the consequences, and stabilize their lives, Petrovietnam has allocated 10 billion VND from the Group's social security fund to initially support and assist localities affected by storms and floods.
Also on this occasion, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union, the Youth Union, the Group's Veterans Association and the Group's Agencies organized a campaign and called on all Oil and Gas workers to donate and support people in localities affected by and damaged by storm No. 3 and the storm's circulation.
In his opening speech, Mr. Le Ngoc Son - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director of Petrovietnam, requested all employees of the Oil and Gas sector to promote the spirit of mutual love and affection, the culture of "loyalty" of the Oil and Gas sector, through many forms of support, helping people in localities affected by storm No. 3; at the same time, called on all units, businesses, and employees in the entire industry to join hands to support localities and people in areas affected by natural disasters.
The donation campaign will start from September 10, 2024 and will continue to take place at the Group's headquarters, member units, and oil and gas projects nationwide.
On September 10, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group organized working delegations to visit, encourage, share and give gifts to localities and people in areas affected by storms and floods.
