Visa is currently processing payment transactions in more than 200 countries and territories. Not only connecting thousands of financial institutions, hundreds of millions of payment acceptance points, Visa also provides electronic payment solutions and anti-fraud.
Possessing modern technology capabilities, experience in deploying diverse international payment solutions alongside a global network of partners, Visa is currently a strategic partner of many commercial banks in Vietnam, playing an important role in developing card products, e-commerce as well as cross-border money transfer solutions.
Visa Direct is Visa's real-time money transfer platform, supporting many money transfer models such as Me-to-Me (money transfer between accounts of the same owner), P2P (Person-to-Person), B2C (Business-to-Consumer), B2B (Business-to-Business)... and some other forms of disbursement through the Visa connection network worldwide.
Based on the cooperation agreement with Visa, PVcomBank has chosen the Visa Direct platform to deploy the Me-to-Me cross-border money transfer feature. This feature allows Visa debit cardholders issued by foreign banks to transfer money directly to payment accounts opened at PVcomBank, meeting customers' needs for top-up, payment and financial management quickly, conveniently and safely.
In addition, the Visa Direct platform also creates favorable conditions for PVcomBank to gradually develop more international money transfer and international money receipt services into accounts, as well as cross-border payment products... thereby contributing to expanding the payment ecosystem - in line with the Bank's orientation to develop diverse international payment products, comprehensively improving customer experience.
The cooperation event has affirmed the strategic relationship between PVcomBank and Visa, and at the same time expanded cooperation opportunities for both sides in the upcoming period in some fields such as digital payments, digital banking, international payments... In addition, PVcomBank and Visa also proactively research and coordinate to carry out communication and promotion activities to spread the brand image of the two units.
Sharing at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Lam - Chairman of PVcomBank's Board of Directors said: "In the context of increasingly present digital transformation in all areas of life, non-cash payments are gradually becoming a habit and essential need of everyone, including the field of international payments.
Instead of just bringing financial products and services, PVcomBank always strives to provide comprehensive solutions for customers. With Visa's companionship in deploying international money transfer solutions through the Visa Direct platform, we are completely confident that we will expand the payment ecosystem in the near future, meeting the diverse needs of customers with quality international payment and money transfer products”.
Visa's research on payment and travel trends in Vietnam in 2026 shows that users are increasingly expecting payment solutions that can be conveniently used in many contexts, including domestic, online and overseas, while supporting real-time spending management. This trend also shows an increasing demand for simple, accessible and reliable cross-border payment and money transfer solutions.
Ms. Dang Tuyet Dung - Country Director, Vietnam and Laos also shared: "As the demand for learning, working, traveling and doing business between Vietnam and international markets is increasing, customers also expect cross-border financial transactions to be carried out as quickly as domestic transactions every day.
Through cooperation with PVcomBank, Visa wishes to contribute to bringing smooth and effective money transfer and payment choices, helping customers manage cash flow more flexibly and feel more secure when performing personal financial needs internationally”.
The implementation of the international money transfer solution via Visa Direct is not only important for PVcomBank in its strategy of shaping and developing a cross-border payment ecosystem, affirming its position and prestige in the financial market, but also contributes to promoting people's habit of not using cash, fully meeting both domestic and international transaction needs of customers.
