Opening this morning's trading session, the gold price at 9:00 a.m. was listed by SJC Hanoi at 41.62 million VND/tael (down 100,000 VND/tael for buying) and 41.92 million VND/tael (down 80,000 VND/tael for selling) compared to yesterday morning's session.
Doji Hanoi Jewelry was listed at 41.62 million VND/tael (down 170,000 VND for buying) and 41.82 million VND/tael (down 170,000 VND for selling) compared to the previous morning session.
Ho Chi Minh City SJC listed at 41.62 million VND/tael (down 100,000 VND/tael for buying) and 41.90 million VND/tael (down 80,000 VND for selling) compared to the morning session on October 28.
The world gold price today, October 29, immediately stood at 1.491,520 USD/tael (down 14.23 USD/tael for buying) and 1.491.820 USD/tael (down 14.31 USD/tael for selling).
Gold prices fell as the US Federal Reserve expected to cut interest rates later this week.
The Fed is expected to cut interest rates for the third time this year when it meets on Wednesday. Investors are waiting for the message to be issued at the press conference to find out whether the Fed will continue to pursue monetary policy easing policies.
The Bank of Japan is also expected to meet this week to make decisions on currency regulation on Thursday. Yen prices are facing uncertainty from the US-China trade war.
Gold may also fall due to China's import figures through Hong Kong in September falling 9% compared to the previous month due to weak demand and Beijing's measures to lift the yuan.
Meanwhile, the price of the British pound increased after European Union Council President Donald Tusk confirmed via Twitter that the EU had agreed to extend the Brexit deadline until January 31, 2020, at the request of the UK government.
The UK parliament is expected to vote next Monday on whether or not to hold a general election before Christmas in an effort to ratify the withdrawal deal the EU has agreed with Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
