Late afternoon on a day at the end of June, teacher Tran Thanh Ha (52 years old), a teacher at Tra Bui Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School, Ca Dam commune, sent me 2 photos of Hung.
The situation of this child is too pitiful for me. Who wouldn't be heartbroken to see this scene? The family now has no money to take the child for examination and treatment," teacher Ha messaged.
At the beginning of July 2026, I and Mr. and Mrs. Ha went up the mountain to group 1, Cua village. Mr. Ha brought a lot of food, milk, and candies for Hung, including a small blanket for him to wrap around his body when he was itchy and painful at night.
These days, Hung is staying with his grandmother. What caught my eye was a child with so many ulcers and blisters all over his body. His face was bleeding, and his grandmother had just applied medicine.
Mr. Ho Van Dang, Hung's father, said that right from birth, his child had contracted this strange disease. Meaning that it had been nearly 2,000 days that he had to live in skin and flesh pain. This ulcer had not yet healed the scar when another ulcer appeared.
I asked: "Does it hurt a lot?". "Yes, it hurts!", she said and turned her face away. At this moment, I understood the pain that a child as young as her is experiencing, having to endure for so many years.
Have you taken your child for examination anywhere for a long time? "I went once a long time ago but it didn't improve when I came back. The doctor said she had something called blister epidermatitis. The family doesn't have economic conditions, so we haven't taken her for another examination yet," Mr. Ho Van Dang recounted.
Sharing about Mr. Dang's family situation, teacher Ha could not hold back his emotions. Teacher Ha recounted that Mr. Dang's family is classified as a poor household. For nearly 5 years, his child has been sick like this, so the family's economy is even more difficult. Ho Thi My Linh, baby Hung's mother, just came to the South to work as a hired laborer to earn money for medicine for her child, while Mr. Dang goes to cut acacia wood for hire.
I really want to call on everyone to join hands to support, with little and much, to take Hung to the hospital for examination and treatment. Leaving him at home like this, I am afraid that ulcers can easily cause infection. I will accompany Mr. Dang's family to take Hung to the hospital when the cost is sufficient," teacher Ha shared.

At noon, Hung picked up the milk box that teacher Ha gave him and drank it deliciously, occasionally his face was grimacing because of the sudden pain. Mr. Dang said that in the afternoon he would go to pick forest leaves to bathe his child to reduce the itching at night.
I sent Mr. Dang some money and left. I wish good luck would come to him and his children, so that he would have money to take his children to the hospital, so that the terrible disease would be knocked down, helping a young bamboo shoot like Hung to grow into a green sprout!
