Mr. Hieu married Ms. Dang Thi Hieu, and had 2 children, Le Thi Thu Huong (born in 2012) and Le Anh Hung (born in 2017).
Mr. Hieu and his wife sent their two children to their grandparents to take care of and work as seasonal workers in Me Linh Industrial Park (Hanoi).
The income of seasonal workers is very unstable, but because their two children are often sick, Mr. Hieu and his wife have to work far away to have money to take care of their treatment and medicine for their children.
"My mother is a retired primary school teacher, with enough salary to make a living and medicine for him because my father has been sick for many years. The grandparents love their children and grandchildren, so they should help us look after them. In the last years of his life, my father was sick a lot, and the burden on my mother's shoulders became even more serious," said Mr. Hieu.
In early 2025, Mr. Hieu's father passed away after a period of serious illness. In June 2025, Le Anh Hung showed signs of high fever. Mr. Hieu and his wife took their child to a district hospital and transferred him to a provincial hospital in a coma...
"In the following days, my child had a high fever and had whole body convulsions, and was transferred by doctors to the National Children's Hospital for emergency care. On July 7, 2025, my wife and I received lightning when we heard the doctor conclude that our child had Japanese encephalitis. My child was then transferred to the Central Tropical Hospital for further treatment. From October 2, 2025, her child was transferred to Tuyen Quang General Hospital for treatment...", Mr. Hieu sadly recounted.
According to Mr. Hieu, Hung's condition did not improve after that, and he was transferred to the National Children's Hospital for emergency treatment. Up to now, Hung is still being treated at the National Children's Hospital...
Mr. Hieu shared that his family has been in a difficult situation for a long time because the couple worked as seasonal workers, and their income was not enough to take care of medicine for their two children who were in poor health and were often hospitalized. His father has been sick for a long time, and spending money on medicine has made the family even more difficult. Since Hung discovered his illness, Mr. Hieu's family has borrowed more than 150 million VND from everywhere to treat his illness and buy medicine for their child.
"After more than 3 months of treatment, my child has not changed much, and his whole body cannot move. Meanwhile, we cannot go to work because we have to take turns taking care of our children, the finances are exhausted, and our health is exhausted... I pray for help, I hope everyone's kindness will support my family through this difficult period," Mr. Hieu shared.
Mr. Hieu was even sadder because since his young son became ill, the couple's eldest daughter had to be taken care of by her grandmother. He was filled with tears thinking that his son's illness would not improve, and that his daughter needed parents to take care of her when she was old enough to study, and that her mother and father would be away...
"The doctor discussed with me about Hung's condition and said that my child needed to be treated for a long time and the sequelae were very serious... I don't know where I will get money from in the coming months to take care of my child, I don't know what to do to take care of my sister and I. I'm studying." Mr. Hieu said in a complaint.
Talking to Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Nong Van Viet, Vice Chairman of Binh Xa commune, said that Mr. Hieu's family's economy was previously average in the commune. However, since his father became sick, passed away, and his son suffered from a serious illness, his family situation became more and more difficult and cramped.
