These days, the small rented room of Mr. Tran Huu Lan's family on Nguyen Van Linh street, Huong An ward, Hue city is always filled with many worries. In addition to taking care of their young child, Mr. and Mrs. Tran Huu Lan (Mr. Lam's son, born in 1991) also have to carry medicine and meals for their father, Mr. Lam (born in 1966), who is suffering from many diseases and is at risk of having both feet amputated.
Mr. Lam has had stones on both feet for many years. Although he had undergone surgery once, the disease did not improve, and the stones continued to develop, making walking increasingly difficult. Not only that, Mr. Lam also suffered from a mild stroke and high blood pressure, so he had to take medicine every day.
According to the family, doctors recommend that if surgery is not performed early, the condition may progress severely, leading to necrosis, and Mr. Lam is at risk of having to have both feet amputated. However, due to lack of health insurance, all treatment and surgery costs exceed the family's ability.

Seeing my father in pain and having no money for treatment, my husband and I felt very sorry. We just hoped to have enough conditions for my father to have surgery again. Looking at my father, he couldn't walk, every night he was in pain and couldn't sleep and was helpless...", Mr. Lan shared.
What made Mr. Lam's family situation even more difficult was that many years ago, his wife left, leaving him living in a homeless situation. Without a house to live in, Mr. Lam had to stay with relatives from one house to another. Some places lived for a few days and then had to move to another place.
Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Lan only have the conditions to rent a small rented room to raise their newborn son, baby Tran Huu Khai Uy (born in 2025), so they do not have enough conditions to bring their father to live with them. However, all living expenses, medicine and times taking their father for examination are taken care of by both husband and wife.
Mr. Lan currently works as a construction worker, the job depends on the weather, so his income is very precarious. Ms. Vu Thi Hoai Phuong - Mr. Lan's wife (born in 2001) is at home taking care of her young child, so she has no income. Her husband's meager salary has to cover rent, raising children, and taking care of medicine for his father, making life always in a state of shortage.
Currently, Mr. Lam often has insomnia due to pain in both feet. Walking is extremely difficult, all activities must be supported by relatives. Every time the disease becomes severe, the family is worried because they no longer have the ability to borrow more money for treatment.
Feeling sorry for his father, in difficult circumstances, Mr. Lan only knew to ask for help to have money to take care of his father's treatment.
Mr. Lan's family situation is in great need of the sharing of readers and philanthropists so that Mr. Tran Huu Lam has the opportunity to have surgery, keep his legs and overcome the difficult period of his life.
