Article 3, Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training stipulates the principles of extra teaching and learning as follows:
1. Extra teaching and learning may only be organized when students (hereinafter referred to as students) have the need to learn extra, voluntarily learn extra, and have the consent of their parents or guardians (hereinafter referred to as parents). Schools, organizations, and individuals organizing extra teaching and learning may not use any form of coercion to force students to learn extra.
2. The content of extra teaching and learning must not be contrary to the provisions of Vietnamese law and must not contain prejudices about ethnicity, religion, occupation, gender, or social status. The content of teaching according to the school's educational plan must not be reduced to include extra teaching.
3. Extra teaching and learning must contribute to developing students' qualities and abilities; must not affect the organization and implementation of the school's educational program and the implementation of teachers' subject programs.
4. The duration, time, location and form of organization of extra teaching and learning must be suitable for the psychology and age of the students, ensuring the health of the students; comply with the provisions of law on working hours, overtime hours and the provisions of law on security, order, safety, environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting in the area where extra teaching and learning classes are held.
So when teaching and learning extra, we must comply with the above principles.
