Expenses paid by the Health Insurance Fund from July 2025

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 16, Article 1, Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance 2024 (effective from July 1, 2025) stipulates the Amendment and supplement of Article 21 as follows:

Article 21. Scope of benefits for health insurance participants

1. Health insurance participants are covered by the health insurance fund for the following expenses:

a) Medical examination and treatment, including remote medical examination and treatment, support for remote medical examination and treatment, medical examination and treatment of family medicine, medical examination and treatment at home, rehabilitation, periodic pregnancy check-ups, childbirth;

b) Transporting patients for subjects specified in Points a, b, c, d, dd, e, h, i, o and r, Clause 3, Article 12 of this Law in cases where they are being treated as inpatients or emergency patients and must be transferred to medical examination and treatment facilities specified in Article 27 of this Law;

c) Costs for the use of medical technical services, drugs, medical equipment, blood, blood products, medical gas, supplies, tools, tools, and chemicals used in medical examination and treatment under the payment scope of the health insurance fund.

Thus, from July 1, 2025, health insurance participants will be paid by the Health Insurance Fund for the above amounts.
