Pursuant to Article 1 of Decree No. 02/2025/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 146/2018/ND-CP detailing and guiding measures to implement a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance, which has been amended and supplemented by a number of articles in Decree No. 75/2023/ND-CP, Article 14 and Clause 4, Article 3 of Decree 146/2018/ND-CP, war veterans are entitled to 100% of medical examination and treatment costs, including:
a) Veterans who participated in the resistance war from April 30, 1975 or earlier as prescribed in Clauses 1, 2, 3 and 4, Article 2 of Decree No. 150/2006/ND-CP dated December 12, 2006 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Veterans Ordinance, amended and supplemented in Clause 1, Article 1 of Decree No. 157/2016/ND-CP amending and supplementing Decree No. 150/2006/ND-CP detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Veterans Ordinance.
b) Veterans who participated in the resistance war after April 30, 1975 as prescribed in Clause 5, Article 2 of Decree No. 150/2006/ND-CP detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Veterans Ordinance and in Clause 1, Article 1 of Decree No. 157/2016/ND-CP amending and supplementing Decree No. 150/2006/ND-CP of the Government, including:
- Military personnel and defense workers who have received allowances under Decision No. 62/2011/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on regimes and policies for those who participated in the war to protect the Fatherland, performed international missions in Cambodia, and helped Laos after April 30, 1975 and have been demobilized, discharged from the army, or quit their jobs;
- Officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, defense workers who directly participated in the war to protect the Fatherland, performed international missions in Cambodia, and helped Laos after April 30, 1975, transferred to work at agencies, organizations, and enterprises (not entitled to benefits according to Decision No. 62/2011/QD-TTg);
- Officers and professional soldiers who have completed their active duty during the period of national construction and defense have been demobilized, retired or transferred to work at agencies, organizations and enterprises;
- Militia and self-defense forces who participated in combat and directly served in combat after April 30, 1975 were entitled to benefits according to Decision No. 62/2011/QD-TTg.
Thus, veterans are entitled to 100% of medical examination and treatment costs as prescribed above.
