The National Assembly recently issued Resolution No. 173/2024/QH15 on questioning activities at the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
One of the notable contents in the resolution is that the National Assembly requests to continue effectively implementing the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment; Resolution No. 99/2023/QH15 dated June 24, 2023 of the National Assembly on thematic supervision of the mobilization, management and use of resources for COVID-19 prevention and control; the implementation of policies and laws on grassroots health care and preventive medicine.

Develop a plan to reserve certain types of drugs, chemicals, and medical equipment to support medical facilities in case the "on-site" response capacity of localities and units is exceeded.
Complete the process of assessing and granting practice licenses and licenses for medical examination and treatment activities in a transparent, streamlined, and time-saving manner; strengthen management capacity and personnel to perform state management of granting practice licenses and licenses for medical examination and treatment activities; mobilize the effective participation of professional associations.
Implement decentralization of licensing authority in the field of medical examination and treatment. Urgently complete the capacity assessment toolkit, as a basis for testing and assessing the capacity to practice medical examination and treatment.
Promote digital transformation; upgrade the national system of registration and licensing of medical examination and treatment, connect with the national and local public service system; strive to develop a Decree regulating the national health database in the first quarter of 2025.
The National Assembly requested to step up inspection and examination of the operations of medical examination and treatment facilities and strictly handle violations.
Focus on implementing the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Pharmacy, the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance, the National Strategy for developing the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry until 2030 and vision to 2045.
Strengthen information and propaganda so that people understand correctly when using functional foods, ensuring safety. Correct and strictly handle the advertising of functional foods that do not match the confirmed content or content that has not been confirmed by competent authorities.
Strengthen management, inspection, examination and post-inspection in the production and trading of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and functional foods, especially business activities on e-commerce sites, e-commerce trading floors, social networks and strictly handle and publicize violations according to regulations.
Previously, Lao Dong reported that last week (December 15-21), the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health conducted surprise inspections of medical facilities showing signs of violations. The Inspectorate of the Department of Health issued decisions to impose administrative penalties in the medical field, related to the violations.
