What standards do university lecturers need to meet in terms of professional expertise?

Clause 3, Article 6, Circular 26/2026/TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training Regulating professional standards for university lecturers (effective from April 9, 2026), stipulates the standards for professional and nghiệp vụ capacity as follows:

a) Have solid knowledge of the modules assigned to be taught and basic knowledge of some related modules in the assigned training major;

b) Understand and effectively implement the objectives, plans, contents, and programs of the assigned modules. Promptly grasp practical requirements for the training major;

c) Presiding over the implementation of at least 01 (one) grassroots or higher-level scientific, technological and innovation activities that have been accepted with results from meeting requirements or higher;

d) Presiding over or participating in compiling at least 01 (one) training book appraised, accepted and put into use in training and fostering from university level or higher suitable for the teaching or training major or specialty of the lecturer and having the international standard ISBN code by a scientific council (established by the head of the higher education institution or competent authority).

d) The author of at least 03 (three) scientific articles is a scientific research work suitable for the teaching industry or major of the lecturer that has been published in a scientific journal with an international standard ISSN code;

Thus, from April 9, 2026, university lecturers need to meet the above standards in terms of professional expertise.
