Article 8 of the 2025 Law on Civil Servants (effective from July 1, 2026) stipulates the obligations of civil servants in professional activities as follows:
1. Perform correctly, fully and be responsible for the results of performing assigned tasks and powers; proactively improve capacity, professional qualifications, and nghiệp vụ to meet the requirements of work; apply science, technology, and digital transformation in performing tasks.
2. Have a sense of organizational discipline; strictly comply with the internal regulations and rules of the unit; report to competent authorities when detecting violations of the law in the unit.
3. Be proactive, creative, closely coordinate with colleagues in performing tasks and professional activities; maintain solidarity in the unit.
4. When serving the People, civil servants must comply with the following regulations:
a) Have a polite and respectful attitude towards the People;
b) Have a spirit of cooperation, humble demeanor;
c) Not arrogant, authoritarian, causing difficulties or troubles to the People;
d) Compliance with regulations on professional ethics.
5. Public employees are only allowed to sign work contracts with 01 public non-business unit and are subject to the management of that public non-business unit.
6. Perform other obligations according to the provisions of law on the industry, field and regulations of competent authorities.
Thus, from July 1, 2026, civil servants have the above obligations in professional activities.
