Procedures for receiving social pension benefits of VND 500,000/month

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 1, Article 3 of Decree 176/2025/ND-CP (effective from July 1, 2025) stipulates that the subjects specified in Article 2 of this Decree are entitled to receive monthly social pension benefits at the rate of VND 500,000/month.

In case the subjects specified in Article 2 of this Decree are also subjects receiving monthly social allowances, they will receive a higher allowance.

According to Clause 1, Article 4 of Decree 176/2025/ND-CP, the order and procedures for implementing social pension benefits are as follows:

a) The person applying for social pension benefits must have a written request for social pension benefits according to Form No. 01 issued with this Decree and send it directly or through a postal organization or online to the Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, ward, or special zone under the province or city where he/she resides (hereinafter referred to as the commune level);

b) Within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the written request for social pension benefits, the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level shall review, verify and standardize the relevant information of the social pension benefits candidate with the national database on population, decide and pay social pension benefits to the candidate according to the provisions of law. The period of receiving monthly social pension benefits is calculated from the month in which the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level signs the decision;

In case the candidate is not eligible for social pension benefits, the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level will respond in writing, stating the reasons.

Thus, the procedure for receiving social pension benefits of VND 500,000/month is regulated as above.
