The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:
Clause 2, Article 50 of the Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking 2024 (effective from July 1, 2025) stipulates that in the fight against human trafficking, the Ministry of Public Security is responsible for the following:
a) Organize and arrange forces to directly carry out or coordinate the implementation of the task of fighting against human trafficking;
b) Implement security and order management to prevent human trafficking;
c) Direct police at all levels to perform their duties and powers on prevention and combat of human trafficking in accordance with the provisions of this Law;
d) Building a movement for the entire population to participate in preventing, detecting, and fighting against human trafficking crimes, protecting security, order, and social safety;
d) Implement the application of information technology in the prevention and combat of human trafficking in conjunction with the national database on population, the database on identification cards and other specialized databases.
Thus, the Ministry of Public Security has the above responsibility in the fight against human trafficking.
