This morning (June 11), more than 1.2 million candidates nationwide took the Literature exam - the first exam of the 2026 high school graduation exam.
Literature is the only essay exam among subjects. The exam time is 120 minutes, calculating the exam time from 7:35 am. The Literature exam has 2 parts: reading comprehension (4 points) and writing (6 points).

As the first candidate to leave the exam room at the Ngo Quyen Secondary School exam site (Dong Anh commune, Hanoi), Luong Thu Oanh - a 12A1 student at Dong Anh High School - said: "I was a little nervous because I was the first candidate to leave the exam site. However, I completed the exam according to the plan and was quite satisfied with my work".
Assessing this year's Literature exam, the female student said that the exam was manageable, the content was not too surprising and closely followed the knowledge that had been reviewed during the learning process. "I think the exam is suitable for students who have prepared carefully. I did most of the questions and am confident that I can get over 8 points" - Thu Oanh said.

Leaving the exam room with a cheerful mood, Vuong Hoai Nam - a student of Ngo Quyen High School (Hanoi), taking the exam at Ngo Quyen Secondary School exam site (Dong Anh commune, Hanoi) - assessed that this year's Literature exam was manageable and topical.
According to Nam, the content of the essay related to technology is a close issue to students, suitable for the current living context, so it creates conditions for candidates to express their views and relate to reality. "I quite like the essay part because the content is related to the issues that are happening in life. I have many ideas to deploy the essay and feel that I did quite well in this part" - Hoai Nam shared.
Hoai Nam said that he completed the exam ahead of schedule and spent time reviewing the entire paper. With what he has shown, the male student is confident that he can get over 9 points in Literature.


According to the exam schedule, in the afternoon of June 11, candidates will continue to take the Math exam with a test time of 90 minutes. This is the second compulsory subject in the 2026 high school graduation exam.
