One of the common errors that candidates often encounter every year is not completing the confirmation step using OTP code after adjusting aspirations. According to him, in 2026, the system will automatically sort aspirations from 1 onwards, helping to limit confusion like in previous years when many candidates self-number incorrectly.
However, after each change or adjustment of aspirations, candidates are required to confirm with an OTP code for the system to record the latest update. If they only edit without confirming, the system will still save the data of the previous confirmation" - Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao emphasized.
According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao, before registering aspirations, candidates need to fully follow the enrollment information of schools, especially the floor score of the major they are interested in. "If a major stipulates a floor score of 20 points but candidates only get 19 points, then registering aspirations for that major will no longer be meaningful" - he instructed.
According to him, candidates need to take advantage of the remaining time to carefully learn about enrollment information on official channels of the Ministry of Education and Training, universities, as well as enrollment counseling programs to carefully consider when choosing majors, schools and arranging aspirations in order to suit their abilities.
From 2026, new regulations for majors using the results of the high school graduation exam or combined with other admission methods, candidates must achieve at least 15 points in the combination of three subjects of the high school graduation exam to be eligible to register for admission" - the Director of the Higher Education Department further noted.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, after knowing the exam scores, candidates have 5 days, from July 1, 2026 to July 5, 2026, to submit applications for exam re-examination.
