At noon on July 4th, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, leaders of Phu My Nam Commune People's Committee (Gia Lai province) confirmed that in the early morning of the same day, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway section passing through the commune, killing 2 people on the spot.
According to initial information, at about 1:10 am on July 4, at Km1177+200 Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway, passing through Binh Long village, a tractor truck with license plate 60H-0xx. xx pulling a trailer with license plate 60R-060. xx driven by Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh L. (born 1971, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) was traveling on the route when it was hit hard from behind by a truck with license plate 29K-119. xx (driver's identity not yet determined) traveling in the same direction.
The accident killed the driver and assistant driver of truck BKS 29K-119. xx on the spot. The two vehicles were heavily damaged.
Immediately after receiving the news, functional forces were present to examine the scene, divert traffic and investigate the cause of the accident.
Currently, the Gia Lai Provincial Police Investigation Agency is coordinating with relevant units to continue to clarify the cause of the incident.
